Landing Page Optimization

The Landing Page is the first page a person visits on your site. It is an essential key to attracting people to your site and letting them know what you have to offer. On most sites, your landing page is your home page.

However, if you are running email campaigns, you will want to create a specific landing pages to represent a “Call-to-Action” that is relevant to the email campaign or message.

For example, if the email campaign is promoting 20% off of your Pro Shop, the landing page for that promotion should have a coupon or link where potential customers can receive that offer. It is important to keep your email campaigns consistent with your landing page.

A common problem occurs when potential customers receive an email or online advertisement that links to a home page. When they arrive at the home page and don’t immediately see information about the campaign that brought them there, they get lost and frustrated and end up bouncing off the website almost immediately. However, if you optimize the Landing Page to correspond with your campaign, you will see an increase of conversion rate.

Another great thing about landing pages is that they are not only online-driven. For an example, if you run a print ad or send a direct mail offer it is important drive them to a specific landing page on the web site. This will ensure that your campaign is a success.
